Stressed Back

The mattress of stiff wood
That serves to fix my
Stressed back and to
Let my spine wrest itself
Free from my clenched muscles
And doubts.
My body feels good
In the morning
And I am healthy and
I would kill
To have gasoline and matches
And a halfway soft pillow
